This small painting shows the great Herreshoff schooner Westward and the Kings Britannia with her Bermudan rig racing the J class Yacht Velsheda in 1935.

Last year saw the historic return of 4 J class yachts to the Solent. In this painting I show Velsheda as she runs up the Solent followed by Lionheart, Rainbow and Ranger. This painting was done as an exercise in crew detail.

Mariette Off St Catherines Isle of Wight 2008

The Beautiful 1915 Herreshoff schooner Mariette has made a few visits to the solent over the years. I was very lucky to be off St Catherines as she rounded during the Cowes classic round Island race in 2008.

A newly completed study of the 1934 Americas Cup defender Rainbow. Im very happy with this study that has allowed me to develop my ideas on the subject. This is intended to be the first in a series of simular paintings depicting Americas Cup Defenders.

Just finished The J Class in the solent 2012, It brings back many happy memories of the historic visit of the J class to the solent last year.

I had a very good visit to Cornwall this weekend, Im fired up to get some really nice waves painted. Watch this space.
